Álvaro Guarnido was born in Granada, southern Spain.
Dancing flamenco has been his way of life since his mother spotted his talent when he was three years old and took him to a local dance studio. Since then he has studied under renowned teachers, such as Cristobal Reyes, La Tati, David Paniagua, Sylvia Lozano, Mayte Galan and Jairo Barrul.
He won the national Spanish Sevillanas competition for four consecutive years (1999-2002) and has been a finalist in many other contests including the famous television dance competition Veo Veo.
During the last 18 years, this young, passionate Spanish dancer has performed in renowned Spanish theatres: Manual de Falla, Isabel la Católica, tablao flamenco de la Chumbera and many more.
He was brought up in an enviroment where music and dance played an important role. Álvaro became part of a flamenco choir and started to play the castanets, at only five years old.
Álvaro is a dancer that transforms himself through his dance and takes the audience on a powerful and magical journey through the different Flamenco rhythms.
His mesmeric dance and feet beating out an irresistible rhythm sets pulses racing and senses spinning drawing the audience into his passionate world of flamenco.
